We've moved! Can you believe the size of this?? On January 4th we totally abused our friends and moved into this old parsonage in Beverly. The house is used as temporary missionary housing and we can stay until mid-June. We're using our time here to find places for all our STUFF (need anything??) and to begin raising support. Please stop by - we'd love to see you.
When Steve and I were trying to decide what to use as a verse on the top of the blog and on our newsletters, we came up with Isaiah 55:11 - "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Awesome, right?! It goes along with the idea of being sent to the nations to do frontier missions (and not returning empty) PLUS it kinds of fits with the image of a boomerang (going out...coming back...hopefully not taking your head off with it.)
Now here's the cool part: on the night before we moved, I was praying and the Lord told me to pray for joy (while moving - what a concept!). The next morning, our neighbor Kathy said that she had been praying and the Lord gave her a verse for us: "you will go out in joy and be led forth in peace." Woo hoo! I love it when the Lord confirms his interactions with you in that way. But wait - it gets better. When I finally got around to looking up Isaiah 55:11 - guess what the very next verse was? "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands." Can I get an AMEN! And so we have a theme:
10 As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12 You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.
