Welcome to the Baldwin Boomerang

We long to see people in every tribe, tongue and nation transformed for God's glory. Our mission is to share the gospel by producing effective, compelling media tools that people can understand in their own culture and language. We are preparing to serve as full-time media missionaries with Create International. Toward that end we completed an extensive missions training program called a Crossroads DTS at YWAM Perth, Australia and a secondary YWAM school called the School of Frontier Media in Thailand. We are currently on furlough in North America and hope to see you face-to-face in 2010!

Support Information: Our support goal is currently near 50%.

You may send gifts and donations for our support to our sending agency Ripe for Harvest and please designate Account #247 in the memo line without including our name on the check. You may then mail the check directly to:

Ripe for Harvest, P.O. Box 487, Monument, CO 80132

PLEASE note new address.

It can take up to a month and a half for us to see your donation show up on our report. Also, Ripe for Harvest is able to issue a tax deductible receipt in the USA, but YWAM in Thailand is not.

If you want to be added to our newsletter list or have additional questions, email us at baldwinboomerang @ gmail dot com

Early August Update & Awards Announcement

Over the past few years we have won a number of awards and recognition for our short films, but the thrill hasn't worn off yet. Last weekend we had the privilege of seeing our latest short film “Beneath the Surface” screen at the Rhode Island International Film Festival in Providence. We were most grateful to have won two awards for the film: Best Sound Design and Best Special Effects. In addition, we have received wonderful affirmations from our colleagues about the short including one who wrote “The people who are getting you in your missionary work will be truly blessed. I pray and trust they can take in the gift you are and the gifts you offer.” Our ardent desire is to offer our gifts and talents in a way that God can best use them to advance His Kingdom.

We find ourselves about to move out of this wonderful Hospitality House in Beverly Farms. This house has been such an amazing blessing to us in the past 8 months as we prepare for the mission field. We have used the time to rid ourselves of most of our earthly possessions, pay off our remaining debt, and otherwise get into shape to move to the flip side of the world. Thank you again to the North Shore Community Baptist Church whose great gift of generosity has meant such much to us. This home has been such a beautiful, tangible blessing to us on many levels. Our prayer is that it will continue to provide other missionaries staying here in the future the same sense of “calm in the storm.”

Speaking of which, we are about to head back into the winds. God is stretching our faith every day. As of yet we still do not have a clear leading on where we will be living in September. Due to our current lack of furnishings and reduced income, we had hoped for a local house sitting, live-in or reduced rent situation. To date, none of those have materialized. Consequently, we may be

either about to:

A.) find creative ways to pay current market value for a 4 month furnished rental in the area

B.) move to Cape Cod and seek new short term employment there for 4 months

If you had told us this is where we would be a year ago, we would have been alarmed and probably freaked out. Today, however, we find we are in the center of God's will and eagerly anticipate answers to our prayers in the weeks ahead. God has always provided all that we need and more, and today is no different than any other.

Regardless of where we end up living this fall, we do hope to see you again soon to hang out before we depart down under. Still interested in sharing
a desert or tea with us, do let us know.

Today Jesus is not limited by time and space like he was in Israel. God desires that we be like living signs of the kingdom, to provide visual aids of what life will look like one day when the kingdom is here fully. We will not bring the Kingdom or build the kingdom, but our privilege is to live out previews of “coming attractions,” revealing what this Kingdom will look like. - Tim Dearborn, "Beyond Duty."

Many friends have asked how you can help us now. Our support goal is currently at 29% and we hope to be fully funded before our departure in December. Information on how you can make ongoing donations appears on the top of our blog.

The other helpful thing is staying in touch. Our blog now has a handy feature to the left that allows you to subscribe to it via email so that when we add new posts you can be informed by email. This is a great way to stay in touch and avoiding asking the awkward questions when you could have the insider scoop.
